The Origin and Essence of EFT
In the 1980’s, a need to treat a patient with an extreme hydrophobia challenged Dr. Roger Callahan, a California psychologist. After months of treatment, he managed to persuade his patient “Mary” to sit by the pool. When he asked her what she thought and feels about water, and where her fear came from, Mary told him that she felt a horrible feeling in the pit of her stomach. Knowing that the stomach meridian connects to points located under the eye, he asked her to try tapping under her eye. After a couple of minutes of tapping, the feeling in the pit of her stomach disappeared and so she just ran to the edge of the pool. Mary’s experience under the therapy he became a turning point for the new era of psychology. Callahan pursued his new approach devotedly.
